A high-level review meeting to assess preparations for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the upcoming Durga idol immersion ceremony ‘Mayer Gaman’, held at AMC conference hall on Friday.

The meeting, jointly organized by the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the Information and Cultural Affairs Department under the chairmanship of Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), Dipak Majumder, reviewed the final phase of preparations for the immersion programme.

The Mayor said all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the event is conducted smoothly and peacefully.

Majumder said adequate police deployment and security arrangements will be in place during the immersion procession of the great and colourful immersion carnival festival “Mayer Goman”. Barricades will be installed at key locations, and additional safety measures have been planned. The Traffic Police have also prepared a comprehensive traffic management plan to prevent congestion and ensure the uninterrupted movement of emergency service vehicles.

The Mayor appealed to all participating clubs, puja committees and government departments to extend full cooperation for the successful conduct of the immersion ceremony.

During the meeting, Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Director Bimbisar Bhattacharjee briefed participants on the proposed immersion route. Among those present were Deputy Mayor Monika Das Datta, AMC Commissioner Saju Vaheed A, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, Smart City CEO G. Sharath Naik, West Tripura Superintendent of Police (SP)  Namit Pathak,  SP(Traffic) Kanta Jangir and senior Traffic Police officials and officers from various government departments.
