After the mysterious death and recovery of the body of a Forest Beat officer on the roadside at the Pulinpur area near National Highway-8 on Friday morning, the Teliamura police on Saturday evening arrested his wife and one of his friend.
Soon after recovery of the body of the slain Forest Beat officer, Kinkar Debnath from the roadside, the bereaved family members alleged foul play over the mysterious death.
They claimed that an unknown person called Debnath, on Thursday night took him away from his residence.
Family members had taken all attempts to contact Kinkar or reach him through his phone were unsuccessful. Then, on Friday early morning his body was recovered on the roadside at the Pulinpur area near National Highway-8 under Teliamura police station.
Police sources said that on Saturday based on preliminary investigation, police detained his wife Purnima Debnath and his friend, Amit Ghosh, a local promoter.
Police sources said that both of them were arrested for interrogation, but they are ascertained that Kinkar Debnath was killed due to their illicit relationship.
