Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Saturday said that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 lays the foundation for building a new and developed India, while urging students to pursue excellence through continuous learning and perseverance. He made the remarks while addressing the 21st Convocation Ceremony of ICFAI University as the chief guest.
The Governor said there is no shortcut to success and encouraged students to remain committed to lifelong learning and self-improvement. He stressed the importance of practical and skill-based education for the holistic development of students and called upon ICFAI University to continue emphasizing industry-oriented learning so that graduates are well-equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, the Governor said the Tripura government has also prepared a roadmap for ‘Viksit Tripura 2047’ and that newly graduated students would play a vital role in achieving these goals. He urged graduates to use the knowledge and skills acquired at the university not only for personal success but also for nation-building.
Governor Nallu expressed satisfaction that ICFAI University has actively embraced the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 by promoting multidisciplinary and holistic education. He also appealed to parents, teachers, social workers, youth, and all citizens to unite in the fight against drug abuse.
ICFAI University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Biplab Halder delivered the welcome address and presented the university report. Chancellor Tirupati Rao and Dr. Chandrasekhar Rao were also present at the ceremony. The Governor conferred PhD degrees, gold medals, and certificates upon PhD scholars, postgraduate, and undergraduate students in recognition of their academic achievements.
