One more dacoit involved in the sensational dacoity incident committed at a house in Churaibari area of North Tripura by wearing attires of TSR was arrested by North Tripura district police on Sunday.

Earlier, two dacoits involved with the sensational dacoity incident were arrested on last Saturday and based on their interrogation statements during their 3-days police remand period, police on Sunday arrested another notorious dacoit and has also recovered uniforms of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and some lethal weapons under his possessions.

Police sources said that on Wednesday last, the investigation team of dacoity incident committed at the house of one Sadhan Deb of Govindapur Gram Panchayat on last Saturday night managed to arrest two infamous dacoits identified as Kabil Hussain (28) and Jamir Uddain (42) of Kadamtala area of North Tripura.

Both arrested dacoits along with their other armed team members on Saturday (February 23rd, 2025) night raided the house of Sadhan Deb wearing clothes of TSR and looted all valuable items including gold and cash from that house.

Later, a police team of Churabari police station led by SP(North) Avinash Roy started investigation and within four days of the crime, they managed to arrest these two infamous dacoits, who were previously also involved in many snatching and dacoity incidents in different parts of the district.

Police said that on Friday a local court sent them for three days police remand and during their remand period interrogation, the investigation managed to get the name of a third accused, identified as Billal Uddin of South Kadamtala was arrested. Police have also recovered large quantities of uniform of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and some lethal weapons under his possession.

Police sources said that all three arrested dacoits during police interrogation have confessed their involvement in the dacoity incident held at the house of Sadhan Deb. Police said that soon they will; able to arrest other miscreants of the gang involved with the dacoity incident of Govindapur.
