Opposition leader express serious concern over release of 3 miscreants involved with abusing traffic personnel
Opposition leader expressing serious concern over abuse to two traffic personnel by three miscreants in the capital city and subsequently release of these miscreants on bail.
Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jitendra Chaudhury on Tuesday write a letter to the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and expressed his shocked over permanent bail to three miscreants, who were arrested by the West Agartala police station after they serious misbehaved and abusing extremely with slang words to two on-duty traffic police personnel at Netaji Chowmuhani area Agartala on October 2nd last.
Chaudhury in his letter has raised questions over securing of bail and said that miscreants were arrested under the atrocities against ST-SC Act and charged under appropriate sections. “Had the sections of the ST-SC Atrocities Act been leveled against the accused, then they were not supposed to get the bail so early and so easily, at least before six months,” said Chaudhury.
He said that considering this matter as simple as releasing three anti-social elements, rather this will certainly encourage the miscreants and anti-social hooligans of the state, as a moral boost up to further criminalizing their misdeeds, which they are continuing and increasing day by day for last 6 to 7 years.
Chaudhury alleged that the overall law and order situation of the state is already under severe threat in the criminals hands of these miscreants, which can easily figure out from three consecutive incidents took place in the state in series within last two and half months including incidents of Gandacherra, Koitorabari and Kadamtala.
“In such a grave situation of the state, such type of soft and casual approach to deal with the hardcore criminals is obviously going to further inspire and encourage the already active anti-social elements throughout the state,” said Chaudhury.
Chaudhury in his letter also wrote that ‘at the same, it is being observed with serious concern and deep regret that , even responsible person, like minister of your cabinet is directly indulging in propagating communally, provoking detrimental messages in social media platform to incite the people of the state at large, which should also be taken into cognizance immediately and such misdeeds from the part of responsible person should also be brought under the purview of law of the land, without any delay or hesitation, at least for good health and wellbeing of the state and to establish true example that law is equal for everyone, at least in Tripura.”
He hoped for the efforts of the Chief Minister and actions on the issues as described.
