Police constable killed in a road mishap at South Tripura

In tragic road mishap, a police constable posted at Sabroom police station died on the spot, when his motorbike collided face on with a speeding lorry at Birchandra Sahid Minar area of South Tripura district on Tuesday.

Police sources said that the deceased police constable was identified as Kamala Mohan Jamatia (40) of Noyabari of Killa was returning to his working place after leave for last rituals of his father-in-law on Tuesday.

When, Kamala Mohan reached Birchandra Sahid Minar area by passing a curb, all of sudden a speeding lorry dashed him from the opposite direction. Hearing heavy sound of crush, local people rushed to the post and they informed the police and firefighters.

Later, firefighters shifted his body to a local hospital, where a visiting doctor declared him dead.

Police sources said that the deceased constable had worn a helmet, but Kamala Mohan had received severe fatal injuries in his head  due to  heavy intensity of crush.
