Retired justice B K Kilikdar new Lokayukta of Tripura
Former judicial officer Dr Bibhas Kanti Kilikdar has been formally appointed as new Lokayukta of Tripura.
An official notification has been issued Tuesday in this regard after the Governor approved his appointment. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha was keen to appoint a person in the post on the basis of consensus and ultimately it has happened. A three member committee has unanimously approved his selection. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha headed the committee which had two other members. They are the Speaker of the state legislative assembly Biswabandhu Sen and the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the state assembly Jitendra Chaudhury.
The new Lokayukta is likely to be administered by the Governor on July 14. The tenure of the present Lokayukta, senior advocate Kalyan Narayan Bhattacharjee will end on July 10.
