Selfless efforts of BSF to bring relief in food affected villages
The recent floods that devastated the entire Tripura state has left countless individuals and families in dire need of support. Amidst the chaos and destruction, BSF has emerged as a beacon of hope, providing critical relief efforts which include distribution of fresh water, medical supplies and laying of sandbags to prevent further water damage to houses.
On Friday, in a collaborative effort with the local population of village Durgapur and NC Nagar, temporary blocks were built by using plastic sandbags to prevent water ingress into these villages close to the border.
BSF through a press statement said that on Saturday Jaidev Barman (58 years) a civil electrician, and Tarunia Saha(53 yrs) residents of village Kullubari were carrying out repair work on an electric pole in Kullubari area . While repairing Tarunia Saha got an electric shock and fell down from the pole. Displaying humanitarian spirit troops of Border Outpost (BOP) Kullubari under Sonamura sub division of Sepahijala district reacted promptly and evacuated the injured person to Sonamura Hospital in BSF vehicle and got him admitted in ICU .
BSF is not only the first line of defence but also first responder for the border population in any crisis round the clock.
