Senior IPS officer Anurag appointed new DGP of Tripura
In a sudden development, the incumbent Director General of Police (Intelligence), Anurag Dhankar has been appointed as DGP of Tripura replacing Amitabh Ranjan.
The General Administration (Personnel and Training) department of Tripura government through a notification issued on May 17(Saturday) said that Governor in consultation with the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) , is pleased to appoint Anurag Dhankar, 1994 batch of IPS to the post of Director General of Police (DGP) of Tripura government with immediate effect and until further order.
While, the incumbent DGP, Amitabh Ranjan of 1988 batch of IPS of Tripura cadre will retire from service on May 31st, 2025.
Official sources said that the state government will issue another notification over next 14 days service of Amitabh Ranjan as new DGP, Anurag will take over the charges of DGP, Tripura on Sunday.
