Speeding bike rider killed 4-years old boy at Srilanka Basti, escalates tension
In a heartrending incident, one 4 years old boy crushed to death by a speeding motorbike rider at Srilanka Basti area under East Agartala police station, which sparked massive tension in that locality and large number of security forces were deployed to defuse the tension.
Police sources said that on Monday afternoon, one four years old boy Abir Das, when moved towards his playing ground at Srilanka Basti area, a speeding motorbike, ride by one Ujjal Miah of that same locality, known for his reckless driving dashed the boy in a narrow lane. After dashing the boy, accused the bike rider and took him about 25 to 30 meters away through crushing.
As a result, the children suffered critical injuries and some local people shifted him to GB Hospital, where a visiting doctor declared him brought dead.
After the tragic incident, accused motorbike rider escaped and some local people attacked his house, which has created a communal tension among two communities of Srilanka Basti.
Immediately, large numbers of police forces were deployed in that area and when, on Tuesday morning, the mortal remains of the deceased boy were bought at his house, a heavy contingent of security forces were deployed led by SP(West Tripura) Kiran Kumar.
While speaking with media persons, Kiran Kumar said that after the tragic incident , the situation in the Srilanka Basti area is under control and police have already arrested the accused motorbike rider.
SP added that accused rider Ujjal Miah was produced before a local court for further legal proceedings.
