TSECL celebrates Women’s power on International Women’s Day

"Women are the embodiment of strength. From mothers to daughters, wives to sisters—they are the driving force behind all creative and constructive endeavors." With these powerful words, Biswajit Basu, the Managing Director of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL), inaugurated a special event at the corporation’s headquarters on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Friday.

The event aimed to recognize and appreciate the contributions of women in the workplace and beyond. Officials and employees from various levels of the organization actively participated in discussions, emphasizing the significance of women’s empowerment in professional spaces.  Addressing the gathering, Sarvjeet Sing Dogra, Director of Finance at TSECL, stressed that ensuring respect and security for women is crucial for any institution’s success. He remarked, An organization that guarantees the safety and dignity of its female employees cannot be stopped from progressing." He further highlighted that TSECL is committed to fostering a safe and encouraging work environment for women, enabling them to excel in their roles.  During the discussion, speakers highlighted the invaluable contributions of women in professional and social spheres. They emphasized that women’s efficiency and dedication play a fundamental role in making an institution self-reliant and successful. Various perspectives were shared on the role of women in creating a balanced and progressive workforce.  A special segment of the event was dedicated to honouring female employees, particularly those responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order within the corporation’s premises. As a mark of appreciation, Biswajit Basu and Sarvjeet Sing Dogra presented gifts to these employees. Additionally, all female officers and staff members were felicitated with tokens of appreciation to acknowledge their hard work and commitment. 

The event reinforced the message that respect and recognition for women in the workplace are essential for fostering a more inclusive and equitable environment. The speakers emphasized that women are not only the pillars of their families but also play a crucial role in shaping society and the nation. Recognizing their contributions in professional spaces leads to overall institutional and social progress.  By organizing such initiatives, TSECL reaffirmed its dedication to gender inclusivity and empowerment, setting a strong example for other organizations to follow.
