Two boys drowned during swimming in last two days

In another tragic incident, a student of class-ten drowned in a big pond at Maheshkhala, at the outskirts of Agartala on Thursday afternoon and after half-an-hour search in the water body, the lifeless body of the boy recovered.
Amidst scorching heat, a large number of youths across the state are now running into water bodies in their respective areas with their friends for swimming to beat the scorching heat, but within the last two days, two youths were drowned in the water bodies as they were unable to swim.
On Tuesday, a youth, who has just passed the Higher Secondary examination, was also drowned to death in a river at Prem Sagar area of Kamthana area of Sepahijala district
Sources said that one Biswajit Das (15) , son of Anakul Das of Maheshkhala area after returning back home from his tuition class, went to ‘Maheshkhala Bottle Park’ with some friends for swimming.
As per the statement of his mother, Biswajit was unable to swim and without permission of his mother he went to that big pond.
After two hours, their neighbour had informed them that her son was drowned in the pond and firefighters shifted him to GB Hospital. When she, along with their relatives, rushed to the hospital, they found Biswajit already declared dead by doctors.
While, family members of the deceased boy alleged that some of his friends might have pushed him into the big pond and he drowned the water body. They also demanded proper enquiry over the untimely death of Biswjit.
It may be recalled here that one Subha Chowdhury, son of Shankar Chowdhury of Gokulnagar area of the same district went to a small river at Prem Sagar area of Kamthana along with three other friends. When Subha along with his other friend jumped into the river water, he felt a gorge under the river and was unable to climb up the surface of water.
Immediately, his friend and other people enjoying swimming in the cold water of the river informed the incident to firefighters and firefighters after two hours of search, managed to recover the lifeless body of Subha Chowdhury.
