Two citizens get their stolen gold jewelleries after 3 months
After successful investigation and prompt action for recovery of stolen items with arrested three thieves by Tripura police, two citizens of Agartala city on Tuesday returned back their stolen valuable gold ornaments after three months.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of East Agartala police station, Rana Chatterjee said that in first part of October, 2024 last, a group thieves had raided at the houses of Rakesh Saha and Bhola Banik in Basakpara area of Pratapgarh under same police station and looted away some valuable gold ornaments from their houses.
After the incident, they lodged their complaints and police started an investigation to arrest thieves and to recover the stolen items. Within a few days, police managed to arrest three thieves, identified as Sayan Sarkar, Pritam Thapa and Raju Das and based on their confessional statements, police have also recovered all stolen gold ornaments under their possession, who are now in central jail.
Chatterjee said that on Tuesday a local court in Agartala ordered to return back their recovered gold jewelleries to its actual owners and as per the directives of the court, police handed over the jewelleries to Rakesh Saha and Bhola Banik. He said that recovered gold ornaments worth over Rs. 5 lakh and both the owners have expressed their gratitude towards police administration over recovery of their stolen treasure.
