Two human traffickers with a Bangladeshi, involved in many infiltration cases arrested
In a significant achievement, the Government Railway Police (GRP) of Agartala Railway station in association with the Crime Branch managed to arrest one infamous Bangladeshi human trafficker from Bangalore, who was involved with numerous trafficking cases.
Giving details, OC of GRP station of Agartala Railway station, Tapash Das on Tuesday said that another trafficker (tout) was also arrested form Kayadefa village under Sepahijala district, who was wanted in human trafficking cases.
He said that based on secret information and statements of arrested Bangladeshi and Rohingyas, police managed to identify a kingpin of a human trafficker, who was staying at BTM area of Bangalore city and control his trafficking network from agents in both side of India-Bangladesh border in Tripura.
Das said that the arrested trafficker identified as Nilay Ahmed alias Bijoy Mondal of Dhaka district of Bangladesh was directly involved with infiltration of Bangladesh citizens with assurance of jobs in Bangalore city. On Tuesday he was brought to Agartala from Bangalore city through a transit-remand.
In another incident, GRP arrested another trafficker identified as Khokan Das (30) of Kayadefa village under Sepahijala district with help of BSF.
Das said that both arrested traffickers were produced before a local court with police remand appeals for interrogation and to get details of their trafficking network.
