Now, Agartala railway station became a hot destination for Bangladeshi, who were sneaking into Indian territory and through passenger train services, they managed to enter different big cities of the country with help of human traffickers.

Again, on Thursday evening two Bangladeshi women were arrested from Agartala railway station, when they  tried to board a train to Karnataka, who were illegally entered India .

Speaking to media persons, officer-in-charge (OC) Government Railway Police Station at Agartala Railway Station,  Tapash Das said that GRP and RPF acted on a tip-off that two Bangladeshi nationals were trying to get out of the state and they started searching in the Tripura Sundari Express  and managed to  arrest two Bangladeshi women who had illegally entered India and were trying to board a train towards their destinations for Pune and Bangalore cities.

The two have been identified as Feroza Khatun( 22) and Anamika Aktar alias Akhi ( 20). According to preliminary investigation, the women had plans to go to Pune and some parts of Karnataka including Bangalore city, said Das.

Police have also seized a few mobile phones, some Indian and Bangladesh currencies along with some documents of Bangladesh.

The arrested Bangladeshi nationals were produced in a local court on Friday and charged with violating the Foreigners Act.

With this, altogether 61 Bangladeshi nationals, mostly women, were arrested in Tripura in less than two months and all the trespassers entered into India through clandestine routes and in search of jobs in other parts of the country, said the OC.
