Union Tribal Ministry sanctions six more Eklavya schools for Tripura
The Union Ministry of Tribal Welfare has approved six new Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) for Tripura, said Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma.
Speaking with media persons on Wednesday at Agartala, Debbarma highlighting his recent Delhi visit said that the setting up of new ERMS was approved after a crucial meeting with the Secretary of Union Ministry of Tribal Welfare, Bibhu Nair in Delhi on Monday during his recent visit to further strengthen the education infrastructure in rural and hilly areas of Tripura.
These schools will not only spread the light of education but also instill leadership, confidence and creativity in children from tribal-dominated areas of the state, said Debbarma and added that now a day’s education is not curriculum, it is the backbone of the nation and with this decision, Tripura government is strengthening the backbone.
Debbarma also said that the ERMS initiative, targeted at tribal and backward areas, aims to transform the state’s education landscape. The schools will be equipped with modern infrastructure, residential facilities and a holistic environment conducive to children’s overall development.
Tripura is not just dreaming now, it is moving firmly towards making those dreams a reality and this project will help every child in the state to build a better future, said the Minister and added that the Union Ministry has assured that the implementation process will begin swiftly through a collaborative effort between the central and the state governments.
