Wanted human trafficker arrested from Belonia
An infamous human trafficker involved with many cases and National Investigation Agency (NIA) charge-sheeted criminal was again arrested by Government Railway Police (GRP) on Sunday from Belonia under South Tripura district, who was wanted in another trafficking case.
Giving details officer-in-charge (OC) of Agartala railway station of GRP, Tapash Das said that human trafficker Jhutan Datta (28) of Motai village of Belonia under South Tripura district was wanted in a specific case on human trafficking , registered at GRP station in Agartala in 2023. In which, arrested Jhutan Datta has trafficked four Bangladeshi women, who were arrested in Agartala railway station.
He said that police after a long one year of search, on Sunday morning got the information and as per information, GRP in association with police personnel from Belonia police station managed to arrest him from Motai market.
Das said that earlier, NIA arrested him for his involvement in another trafficking case and recently he got the bail from court. NIA has also submitted their charge-sheet and police records indicate that arrested Jhutan Datta had also been involved with many tracking cases.
While, GRP will produce him before a local court on Monday with police remand appeals for interrogation to get details of his international trafficking network.
