YC leader Sahajan’s father, brother arrested, sent to JC till June 23rd
Based on the FIR filed at East Agartala police station against Youth Congress leader Md Sahajan Islam for his derogatory remarks against Chief Minister, police administration and leaders of Minority Morcha of BJP, the city police on Monday arrested his younger brother Khairul Islam and his father Najrul Miah.
Police sources said that soon after their arrest and subsequent medical examinations of both accused persons, police produced them before the court of Judicial Magistrate first class under West Tripura district with prayers for remanding the accused persons to judicial custody until the completion of the investigation.
After hearing both prosecution and defence advocates, the court rejected their bail petitions and sent them into judicial custody till June 23rd next.
While, ruling BJP on Monday organized massive protest against derogatory remarks made by Youth Congress leader Sahajan Islam against Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and they submitted a deputation before the SP of West Tripura district, Kiran Kumar demanding his immediate arrest.
BJP’s Minority Morcha leader Billal Miah along with other Morcha leaders has also filed an complaint at West Agartala police station against Sahajan Islam.
