Young police officer died in road mishap at Jampui Hills
In a tragic incident on the night of Navami and Vijaya Dashami (Saturday), one Sub-Inspector (SI) of Tripura police died in a road accident on the way to Damcherra to Vangmun under North Tripura district.
Police sources said that deceased Sub-Inspector David Darlong posted at Vangmun police station was on way to his working place from Damcherra with his own vehicle. But, at midnight on Saturday, Darlong lost control of his car and fell into a 150 feet deep gorge in the Jampui Hills area.
After the accident, some local people rushed to the spot and shifted him to a local hospital, where the visiting doctor declared him brought dead.
After the tragic death of a young police officer, a pall of gloom descended in the police department.
While, North Tripura district police have initiated an investigation to find out the reason for the road mishap.
