Bangladesh: 80 shrines, Sufi centres attacked in past six months, claims Global Sufi Organisation
Unknown attackers destroyed more than 80 shrines and Sufi centres in Bangladesh in the past six months, coinciding with the period when Muhammad Yunus-led government took charge of the South Asian nation following the collapse of former PM Sheikh Hasina and her regime, media reports said.

The Daily Star quoting a report published by the Global Sufi Organisation said the attacks involve vandalism, arson, looting, and murder.
The organisation demanded an immediate judicial probe into all attacks.
The group also asked for enhanced security for those religious structures.
The group also wanted authorities to prohibit anti-Sufi sermons at mosques and religious gatherings and compensation for the damaged structures and the families of those affected in the attacks.
Hasan Shah Dipu Noore, a member of the organisation's central executive committee, told The Daily Star that followers of Sufism are peace-loving and are not involved in any criminal activities.
Every person in this country has the freedom to practice their own religion, he said.
"It is a matter of grave concern that followers of the Sufi saints are being attacked," he said.
Bangladesh has been witnessing a spike in attacks on minorities, including Hindus, ever since Hasina's exited the country amid violent protests against her government over a job quota issue.
