Egypt: Three Qatari officials killed in road mishap in Sharm el-Sheikh
Three Qatari officials were killed and two others injured after their vehicle crashed near Egypt’s Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh, media reports said on Sunday.

In a statement posted on X, the Qatari Embassy in Cairo expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of “three members of the Amiri Diwan.”

The embassy identified the deceased as Saud bin Thamer Al Thani, Abdullah Ghanem Al Khayareen, and Hassan Jaber Al Jaber.
The injured were named as Abdullah Issa Al Kuwari and Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Buainain, who are currently receiving treatment at Sharm el-Sheikh International Hospital.
The embassy said it was closely coordinating with Egyptian authorities following the accident.
The bodies of the deceased and the injured will be flown to Doha on a Qatari aircraft later today, according to a report by Qatar Tribune.
The injured people are undergoing treatment at Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital.
Sharm El-Sheikh was the venue of the ceasefire agreement negotiation reached between Israel and Hamas to end the ongoing Gaza war this week.
The city is scheduled to host a global summit to finalise the agreement on Monday.
