Among the deleted messages was his Election Day appeal, "Vote red today!", which had been pinned to the top of his X account.
The post disappeared from his timeline by Wednesday morning, November 4, as election results showed major Democratic gains across the country.
The development came around the time Democrat James Talarico secured victory over Republican Ken Paxton in the closely watched Texas Senate race.
Musk had strongly backed Paxton, making the Democratic victory another setback for the billionaire's political intervention during the election campaign.
The apparent deletions also caught the attention of X users. When a user asked the platform's AI chatbot Grok whether Musk was removing his election-related posts, it responded affirmatively.
Grok confirmed that Musk had deleted the "Vote red today!" message following the Republicans' disappointing election performance.
Musk's sarcastic reaction to Republican losses
While Musk made relatively few direct comments about the election results on Tuesday, he took to X on Wednesday to share several posts analysing the outcome.
In one sarcastic remark, he wrote, "Guess my election-interfering space lasers didn't work this time."

In another post, he suggested that building data centres in space was becoming an attractive proposition, writing, "Data centers in space looking pretty appealing right now."

The remarks came amid growing attention on Musk's substantial financial backing of Republican candidates and conservative political groups during the election cycle.
Musk spent nearly $458 million backing Republicans
Musk reportedly poured at least $458 million into supporting Republican candidates and conservative political organisations during the 2026 midterm election campaign, according to campaign finance disclosures and media estimates.
His financial backing increased during the second half of the campaign as Republicans sought to retain control of Congress.
A significant portion of the money was channelled through America PAC, Musk's political action committee, which received around $216 million.
The organisation funded voter outreach operations, campaign workers and digital advertising.
Other major beneficiaries included the Senate Leadership Fund and Republican candidates contesting key races, particularly in Texas, New York, New Jersey and Iowa.
The Texas Senate contest was among Musk's biggest political investments. Despite substantial financial backing for Paxton and attacks against his Democratic opponent, Talarico emerged victorious.
Musk's fortune takes a hit after election results
The Republican setback also coincided with a decline in Musk's personal fortune.
According to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index figures reported by Business Insider, Musk's wealth fell by approximately $33 billion on Wednesday as shares of Tesla and SpaceX declined following the election results.
His estimated net worth stood at around $865 billion after the market downturn, although he continued to retain his position as the world's richest person.
Investors were also assessing the potential implications of Democratic gains for Musk's business interests, particularly in areas involving government contracts, regulatory approvals and data centre development.
Musk's substantial financial stakes in Tesla and SpaceX make his overall fortune particularly sensitive to fluctuations in the companies' valuations.
