Man allegedly urinates on sleeping co-passenger in US flight
The United Airlines has banned a man after he allegedly urinated on his fellow passenger when they were travelling in a flight from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Manila, Philippines, on December 27.
When the flight was about four hours into the journey, a man got up from his seat and started peeing on Jerome Gutierrez who was flying in business class of UA Flight 189, claimed the victim's stepdaughter.
“He was asleep and buckled in and was surprised when he looked at the man and thought he was dreaming,” Nicole Cornell, Gutierrez’s stepdaughter, told SFGATE.
She wrote that the attendants in the flight asked him “not to approach the man in fear that there would be a confrontation, and he would become violent.”
She said the victim was provided with a pyjama by flight authority after the incident.
“They put the needs of the airline before my stepdad’s health,” Cornell wrote. “I am so disgusted and in shock with how United Airlines handled this! That is a biohazard, and the plane should’ve turned around to address this issue.”
Cornell told SFGATE the man apologized to her parents and “begged them not to press charges.”
United Airlines spokesperson Anoushah Rasta confirmed to SFGATE that the man who peed on Jerome Gutierrez has been banned.

A police complaint was lodged against the man after the incident came to light.
Shankar Mishra was arrested but later granted bail.
According to reports, Air India had even put Mishra on its 'no-fly' list.
