Pakistan: Gunmen attack Karachi police compound, heavy exchange of fire underway
Karachi/IBNS: Gunmen Friday attacked the office of the Karachi police chief in the southern Pakistani city. An operation with the police force is currently underway, said reports.
Karachi Police Chief is present inside the premises as the exchange of gunfire continues between police and terrorists continues.

The terrorists are armed with heavy weapons, grenades and explosives.

According to local media reports, heavy gunfire and explosions were heard outside the premises on Friday.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken cognisance of the situation and directed the relevant DIGs to send personnel from their zones.
“I want the perpetrators behind the attack on the additional IGs office to be arrested,” he said.
The chief minister also sought a report from the officer concerned and said that he was personally monitoring the situation.
No casualties have been reported so far.
