Poll reveals majority of US voters oppose Biden impeachment hearings in Congress
Washington/UNI: A national poll conducted by NBC News on Thursday found that a majority of American voters oppose the initiation of a congressional impeachment investigation into President Joe Biden.
The poll, conducted among 1,000 registered voters, found that 56% of those surveyed opposed the hearings, scheduled for the House Oversight Committee on Thursday.
A total of 39% of those surveyed said the legislature should initiate the impeachment process against Biden, who has been accused of abusing power, obstructing justice, and engaging in corruption.
Six in ten independent voters were opposed to the hearings, as were 88% of Democrats and 73% of Republicans.
The Oversight Committee is currently investigating allegations of foreign bribery and influence-peddling involving members of the Biden family and their entities in countries such as Ukraine and China.
In response to the allegations, Biden has denied ever negotiating with his son regarding foreign business matters.
