Taiwan cites data leaks concerns, bans public sector employees from using DeepSeek AI bot
Taiwan cited concerns over data leaks to the Chinese government and asked public sector employees not to use DeepSeek AI bot.

In a press release, MODA said DeepSeek AI is a Chinese ICT product and service and warned that potential data leaks could pose a national security risk, Focus Taiwan reported.
MODA said the ban applies to employees of central and local government agencies, public schools, state-owned enterprises and other semi-official organizations but did not elaborate on specifics or enforcement measures.
MODA said that the ban also applies to those working on critical infrastructure projects and in government-endowed foundations.

DeepSeek is a Chinese artificial intelligence company which is based in Hangzhou.
Its AI-powered Chatbot has emerged as one of the most downloaded free app on Apple since its release in the USA this month.
