Thailand: Local pedestrian dies after American tourist hits her while riding dirt bike in Chiang Mai
A Thai pedestrian died after she was hit by an American tourist who was riding a dirt bike alongside a friend in Thailand's Chiang Mai province on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as 58-year-old Kia Sae-wang.
American national Philip Edward Morrow, 38, was seen in videos of the incident which have now gone viral on social media sitting down on his knees at the crash site.
He reportedly expressed 'remorse' over the incident.
According to local media reports, the American national was charged with reckless driving causing death following the mishap.
Police invited both the victim's family and the American national to the police station for questioning.
While at the station, officers received news that Kia had succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Upon hearing this, Philip collapsed to the ground and prostrated himself before the victim’s relatives in deep remorse, reported Khaosod English.
The family of the victim reportedly showed no anger.
Investigation revealed the woman was crossing the road to get her dinner when the mishap occurred.
