Toronto city officially launches new ‘Toronto For All’ anti-Islamophobia campaign, observes acceptance without exceptions
Toronto/IBNS: The newest Toronto For All Anti-Islamophobia Campaign was officially launched Monday at Nathan Phillips Square with guidance from a Community Advisory Council and the National Council of Canadian Muslims.
“I am proud to lend my support to this initiative...Community Advisory Council, consisting of diverse Muslim community members and leaders, offered their invaluable expertise and insights to the outstanding creative team...to shape this campaign and make it truly representative of our shared goals,” said Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie (Scarborough-Rouge Park), Chair of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee during the launch.
Aimed to raise awareness about the realities of Islamophobia present in the community, Toronto For All campaign in its 13th year reminds Torontonians that acceptance comes without exceptions.
Calling on Torontonians to both confront and eliminate Islamophobia in the city, the campaign will appear on transit shelters throughout Toronto, on social media channels and on the City’s website.
Development of a meaningful and impactful design concept was done jointly by the National Council of Canadian Muslims and a Community Advisory Council made up of diverse Muslim community members, educators and leaders by engaging in a collaborative and detailed process.
With previous campaigns having focused on anti-East Asian racism, anti-Black racism, ageism and antisemitism, this year the campaign encourages generating a dialogue among Toronto residents that says no to all forms of discrimination and racism.
