Turbulence hits Doha-Dublin Qatar Airways flight, 12 injured
At least 12 people, which included six crew members, were injured after a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Dublin was hit with turbulence on Sunday.
Dublin Airport said the flight landed in Dublin shortly after 1 pm local time.
The passengers were met by emergency service members after it landed in the airport.
Dublin Airport posted on X: "Qatar Airways flight QR017 from Doha landed safely as scheduled at Dublin Airport shortly before 13.00 on Sunday. Upon landing, the aircraft was met by emergency services, including Airport Police and our Fire and Rescue department, due to 6 passengers and 6 crew [12 total] on board reporting injuries after the aircraft experienced turbulence while airborne over Turkey."
"The Dublin Airport team continues to provide full assistance on the ground to passengers and airline staff," it said.
"All passengers were assessed for injury prior to disembarking the aircraft. Eight passengers were subsequently taken to hospital," the airport said.
The airport said flight operations at Dublin Airport remained unaffected and continued as normal this afternoon
This incident occurred just days after 104 passengers were injured and a person died of a heart attack after a Singapore Airlines flight was hit by turbulence.
