US: 4 killed in Anaconda bar shooting, search for gunman underway
A suspect is currently on the run after at least four people were killed in a shooting incident at a bar in the US city of Anaconda on Friday, officials said.
The attacker was identified as 45-year-old Michael Brown of Anaconda.
The Montana Division of Criminal Investigation confirmed to CBS News that the shooting happened at The Owl Bar in Anaconda at around 10:30 a.m. local time.
The agency did not share details about the shooting.
According to reports, the attacker lived close to the bar.
Authorities were searching for the suspect west of Anaconda near Stumptown Road and Anderson Ranch Loop Road, the state Division of Criminal Investigation was quoted as saying by CBS News.
Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center wrote on Facebook: "Be advised suspect in shooting is believed to be armed and dangerous. Suspect is Michael Paul Brown and was last seen in the stumptown area. Public is advised to stay out of the stumptown area and surrounding areas. If seen do not approach. Contact 911 for any way to contact Michael Paul Brown."
Montana Highway Patrol alerted that authorities are searching for a suspect believed to be armed.
Montana Governor Greg Gianforte said he is currently monitoring the situation.
