Assam State Zoo in Guwahati set for massive transformation, eyes premier wildlife destination status
Guwahati/IBNS:Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed plans to revamp the Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden in Guwahati, with the ambitious goal of transforming it into India's premier destination for wildlife enthusiasts.

Taking to Twitter to share the news, Chief Minister Sarma expressed the government's commitment to enhancing the zoo's facilities and overall experience, reported Guwahati Plus.
With the aim of achieving international standards, the state government has assembled a team of experts who extensively researched the best zoos in India. Their findings and recommendations will serve as a guiding force in the revitalization process, ensuring the Assam State Zoo reaches new heights.
A key highlight of the renovation plan is the establishment of a theme-based park within the zoo premises. This park will be carefully designed with proper zonation and a wide range of amenities, providing visitors with an immersive and enjoyable experience.
The enclosures will be redesigned to prioritize the comfort and well-being of the animals, creating a more animal-friendly environment.
