Earthquake hits Fiji Islands region, Papua New Guinea
Beijing/IBNS/UNI: An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted Fiji Islands region at 2:39 GMT on Sunday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 577.5 km, was initially determined to be at 20.68 degrees south latitude and 178.37 degrees west longitude.
Meanwhile, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted the New Ireland region of Papua New Guinea on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 3.63 degrees south latitude and 151.32 degrees east longitude.
