Low-pressure area formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal
Bhubaneswar: A Low-pressure area has been formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining North Odisha-West Bengal coasts Under influence of Saturday’s cyclonic circulation.
It is very likely to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha and Jharkhand during next 2 days.
Under its influence Scattered Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall (7 to 20cm) with isolated extremely heavy rainfall (20cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir and Bargarh.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Angul, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda on June 26 and issued orange warning for these districts.
The MET office also predicted that Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, and Khordha on June 26 and issued yellow warning for these districts.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha during the next five days.
Under the influence of low-pressure area squally weather with gusty surface wind speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph is very likely over North Bay of Bengal adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal, along and off Odisha coast during June 26 and to June, 27 mornings.
Fishermen are advised to not to venture into sea area of along and off Odisha coast, North Bay of Bengal adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal during the period.
Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri on June 26 to June 27 morning and issued yellow warning for these districts and sounded orange warning for Bagaragarha, Bolangir, Nuapada,Kalahandi , Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh and Nawarangpur districts.
