Vijay aimed at "corrupt" politicians and others who indulged in "divisive politics" making an address to a massive crowd.

"Advancing anti-people politics as Dravida Model and cheating the people with that is a self-interested dynasty politics grouping," the actor said as quoted by News 18.

Keeping the doors open for alliances, the 50-year-old said as quoted by the news outlet, " Will we not join forces with those like us, who want to travel with us?"

Vijay favoured secularism, promotion of the regional language and removal of the Governor's post as some of the immediate goals of his newly-launched party, Tamiliga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).

Vijay, 50, held a mega state-level conference on Sunday, eight months after announcing his debut in politics.

In a push for the cultural renaissance, Vijay batted for the promotion of Tamil language in court and temple.

"It's our duty to convey our ideology to the people and introduce them to our ideological leaders, those who have tirelessly worked for the people of this soil," Vijay said as quoted by India Today.

"Yes, Periyar is our ideological leader. Our party respects all religious beliefs, yet we uphold principles like women’s education, women empowerment, and social justice that Periyar advocated. These are the values we will carry forward," the actor-turned-politician said at a massive gathering.

Flagging secularism, Vijay was presented copies of Bhagavad Gita, Quran, the Bible and the Constitution by the party members.

Social justice, equality, democracy, two-language system, corruption-free administration, caste-based census are some of the other goals of the party as revealed by Vijay.
