Ambati Rayudu quits Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP within 10 days since joining

Vijayawada/IBNS: Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu on Saturday quit Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP within 10 days after he joined the state's ruling party.


Rayudu posted on X, "This is to inform everyone that I have decided to quit the YSRCP Party and stay out of politics for a little while. Further action will be conveyed in due course of time. Thank You."

Rayudu joined YSRCP in presence of Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Narayan Swamy and YSRCP MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy in the last week of December 2023.

Rayudu, 38, announced his retirement from Indian Premier League (IPL) on May 28, 2023.

A day later, the right-handed batter announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

Rayudu, who began his first-class career playing for Hyderabad in 2002, appeared for Team India in 55 One Day Internationals and 6 T20Is.
