Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina begins her State Visit to India
Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina arrived in India on Friday for her State Visit at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
She is visiting the neighbouring nation from June 21 to June 22.
"This will be the first incoming bilateral State Visit after the formation of the government in India following the 18th Lok Sabha elections," read a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.
"During the visit, apart from holding bilateral consultations with the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to call-on the President Smt. Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar," the statement said.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishanakr is scheduled to call-on the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was among the international leaders who attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and the Union Council of Ministers on 09 June 2024.
