Under the initiative, candidates will be allowed to travel free of cost in all Delhi Transport Corporation buses by showing a valid NEET UG 2026 admit card.

Rekha Gupta shares announcement

Sharing the update, Gupta said the decision was taken to ensure that candidates do not face inconvenience while travelling to their examination centres on such an important day in their academic journey.

The Delhi Government also extended its best wishes to all students appearing for the examination.

Relief for thousands of aspirants

The move is expected to benefit thousands of candidates and their parents across Delhi, especially those travelling long distances within the city to reach examination centres.

Officials believe the free transport facility will help reduce travel-related stress and ensure candidates arrive at their centres on time.

NEET UG is among India’s largest entrance examinations and is conducted for admission to undergraduate medical and allied healthcare courses across the country.

Punjab announces similar initiative

Earlier, Bhagwant Mann had announced a similar initiative for NEET 2026 candidates in Punjab.

Mann said many aspirants come from economically weaker backgrounds and often struggle with travel expenses during competitive examinations.

He announced that Punjab Roadways buses would provide complimentary travel to NEET candidates from June 20 to June 22 upon showing their admit cards.

States roll out student-friendly measures

Several state governments have recently introduced candidate-friendly measures aimed at supporting students appearing for national-level entrance examinations.

The initiatives are intended to ease logistical challenges and help candidates focus on their exams without additional financial or travel-related burdens.
