Jammu and Kashmir: Pahadi community members celebrate Jashan-e-ST event in Uri
The Pahadi (hilly) ethnic group, united under the banner of the All Jammu and Kashmir Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum, recently joined to celebrate Jashan-e-ST event in Uri region of the UT.
The members of the community celebrated their cultural heritage during the event.
For the Pahadi tribe, this day was the step towards years of anticipation and hope. Their profound gratitude flowed towards the Government of India and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party for their pivotal role in introducing the Constitutional Amendment Bill in the Parliament, aimed at granting the coveted Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Pahadi Tribe, reports ANI.
Safeena Beigh, Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Hajj Committee, Chairperson of DDC Baramulla, among others attended the event.
