People take resolution to make India a developed country by next 25 years: Modi on Rozgar Mela
New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that the people have taken the resolution to make India a developed country by the next 25 years.
After distributing appointment letters to around 70 thousand newly recruited under the National Rozgar Mela through video conference, Prime Minister Modi said, "Rozgar Mela is an attempt to empower the youth and encourage their active engagement in the nation's progress".
"The role of youth will be crucial in our efforts to make India a developed country by 2047," he added.
Rozgar Mela is being held at 44 locations across the country. The recruitments are taking place across Central Government Departments as well as State Governments and Union Territories supporting this initiative.
"During the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav', when the country is working on the path of development, it is a great honour to get the opportunity to work as a government employee," he said.
He said since appointment letters are distributed more in the banking sector, the role and responsibility of young employees have also increased.
The Prime Minister said, "Today India is one of those countries where the banking sector is considered to be the strongest, but this was not the situation nine years ago...adding that the Government banks, which used to be discussed for losses of thousands of crores for NPA, are being discussed for record profits."
Prime Minister Modi said that around 50 crore Jan Dhan accounts have been opened across the country, and it is a great matter of pride for every employee of the bank.
He also highlighted the "phone banking scam".
Modi said, "It was one of the biggest scams during the previous government, due to which the backbone of the banking sector was broken".
"In 2014, the government strengthened the management of government banks in the country and made a 'Bankruptcy Code' law, so that if any bank is shut, they have the minimum loss possible," he added.
The Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilling the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord the highest priority to employment generation.
The Mela is expected to act as a catalyst for further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development.
The newly inducted appointees are also getting an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, where more than 580 e-learning courses are available.
