Priyanka Gandhi dons traditional Kerala 'Kasavu' for Lok Sabha oath, brings back memories of Indira Gandhi
New Delhi/IBNS: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's oath ceremony in the Lok Sabha transcended beyond its political significance as her donning of a Kerala 'Kasavu' saree rekindled the memories of her grandmother Indira Gandhi.
The similarity between Priyanka's look and that of her grandmother is hard to miss.
Indira Gandhi used to wear such traditional sarees often during her attendance at the Parliament.
Priyanka's pick of a traditional Kerala saree also holds deeper significance for the people of Kerala as she would represent Wayanad in the Lok Sabha after winning the bypolls with a thumping majority.
During her oath ceremony, she was also spotted holding a copy of the Constitution, which has become a trademark for her brother Rahul Gandhi, who is often seen with the sacred book at several Parliament sessions.

Priyanka Gandhi often resembles her grandmother and her dressing on Thursday brought back her grandmother's memories to many.
The Congress general secretary became the candidate from Wayanad after her brother and Congress top leader Rahul Gandhi resigned keeping the other seat he won in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Rahul won from the Gandhi bastion Rae Bareli in 2024, five years after Wayanad saved his face after electoral defeat to former Union Minister Smriti Irani in Amethi.
Wayanad went to the bypolls on November 13.
