Rajasthan elections 2023: 24.74 pc votes polled for 199 seats till 11 am
Jaipur/UNI: Around 24.74 percent votes out of more than 5.26 crore were polled till 11 am and polling for 199 out of 200 seats in Rajasthan Assembly continued smoothly and peacefully on Saturday.
As per the data of the Election Commission while maximum 30.25 percent votes were polled in Dholpur district, Udaipur witnessed minimum voter turnout of 21.07 percent in the first four hours of polling.
According to the Election Commission officer voting which started at 7 am will continue till 6 pm.
Among other districts 23.43 percent votes were polled in Ajmer, 26.15 percent in Alwar, 26.37 percent in Banswara, 28.91 percent in Baran, 22.11 percent in Barmer, 27 percent in Bharatpur, 23.85 percent in Bhilwara, 24.52 percent in Bikaner, 25.42 percent in Bundi, 24.87 percent in Chittorgarh, 25.09 percent in Churu, 22.73 percent in Dausa, 22.82 per cent in Dungarpur and 28.22 percent in Ganganagar.
Similarly, 29.16 percent votes were polled in Hanumangarh, 25.19 percent in Jaipur, 25.24 percent in Jaisalmer, 23.24 percent in Jalore, 28.48 percent in Jhalwar, 24.57 percent in Jhunjhunu, 22.58 percent in Jodhpur, 24.61 percent in Karauli, 26.97 percent in Kota,23.63 percent in Nagaur, 22.66 percent in Pali, 22.4 percent in Pratapgarh, 21.98 percent in Rajsamand, 24.32 percent in Sawai Madhopur, 25.02 percent in Sikar, 924.19 percent in Sirohi and 25.16 percent in Tonk.
According to the EC officials polling continues peacefully amidst tight security as no untoward incident was reported from any district so far.
It may be noted that due to the death of Congress candidate and MLA Gurmeet Singh Kunnar from Karanpur assembly constituency in Ganganagar district, the election in this assembly segment has been postponed.
Many prominent leaders, including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, former CM Vasundhara Raje, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president CP Joshi, former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, Deputy Leader of Opposition Dr Satish Poonia exercised their franchise in the early hours.
Gehlot along with his family, wife Sunita Gehlot, son Vaibhav Gehlot, daughter-in-law Himanshu Gehlot, exercised their franchise in his Sardarpura assembly constituency.
After casting his vote, Gehlot said that from the atmosphere prevailing in the state, it seems that his government will come back to power.
He said that all the voters including women and youth are enthusiastic about voting and there is an undercurrent. On a question, he said that Congress's claims are solid while BJP's claims are hollow.
The CM said, "Our guarantees will work whereas Prime Minister Modi's guarantees have failed. Therefore, there is no discussion about their guarantees."
