Terrorism strikes Jammu and Kashmir: 2 non-local labourers shot dead in Ganderbal
At least two non-local labourers died in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Sunday, media reports said.
Following the attack, Kashmir Police Zone posted on X: "#Terror incident in Gagangeer, #Ganderbal. Area cordoned off by security forces. Further details shall follow."
Sources told UNI news agency the unidentified gunmen shot at and killed two non-local labourers working at a tunnel project in Gagangeer Sonmarg this evening.
The identity of the deceased people are still not known.
Police and security forces have rushed to the spot after the attack.
Condoling the death of the labourers, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah posted on X: "Very sad news of a dastardly & cowardly attack on non-local labourers at Gagangir in Sonamarg region. These people were working on a key infrastructure project in the area. 2 have been killed & 2-3 more have been injured in this militant attack. I strongly condemn this attack on unarmed innocent people & send my condolences to their loved ones."

This is the second attack on non-local labourers in Jammu and Kashmir in past two days.
Earlier, a non-local migrant from Bihar was shot dead by unidentified terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.
