TMC MLA-elects Sayantika Banerjee, Reyat Houssen Sarkar refuse to take oath at Raj Bhavan in fresh tussle with Bengal Guv Bose
Kolkata/IBNS: In a fresh tiff between the government and Raj Bhavan, Trinamool Congress MLA-elects Sayantika Banerjee and Reyat Houssen Sarkar have refused to visit the Governor House for their oath-taking ceremony and instead waited at the West Bengal Assembly for CV Ananda Bose to turn up.
Sayantika and several TMC MLAs were seen with placards demanding an oath-taking ceremony at the assembly on Wednesday.
"Waiting for the arrival of Hon. Governor for oath," reads the placards held by Sayantika and Reyat outside the state assembly.
"What else could we do except waiting," says Sayantika.
TMC spokesperson Riju Dutta posted on X, "Hope good sense prevails, and the Hon’ble Governor holds the Oath Ceremony for public representatives for the benefit of public service!"

However, Governor Bose, who had invited Sayantika to Raj Bhavan for the ceremony, left for his Delhi tour in the afternoon.
Sayantika and Reyat have won from Baranagar and Bhagobangola assembly constituencies respectively.
Speaking on the new clash, Assembly Speaker Biman Bandyopadhyay said, "I am checking whether the matter can be taken to court. I have to check how far I can go or how much jurisdiction the Governor has first."
Bandyopadhyay also said he might knock the doors of President Droupadi Murmu over the matter.
