UP government plans to use AI-based technology, tools for crowd management in Maha Kumbh Mela 2025
The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to use Artificial Intelligence-based technology and tools to manage the crowd during the upcoming Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the state police department to adopt the technology for the upcoming mega-religious event of the state.
"The Kumbh represents the connection between India's rich religious and cultural legacy and the rest of the world. As a result, there is a need to ensure the event's safety, convenience, and cleanliness," he stated as quoted by PTC News during a meeting of senior officials at his residence.
"To avoid any unfortunate incidents, the police department and other stakeholders must use technology to effectively manage crowds. A detailed action and contingency plan must be created. AI-based equipment and approaches must be utilised to monitor crowd density so that any potential clusters can be dispersed before the group disrupts order in any pocket," he stated.
Maha Kumbh Mela will be held in Prayagraj in 2025.
The event will be held from January 14th to February 26th, 2025.
