Who is Akshita Dhankar?
Born in Kasni village in Haryana — a region known for its strong tradition of military service — Dhankar was inspired by her father’s participation in past Republic Day parades, which sparked her early aspiration to serve the nation.
She pursued her higher education at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, University of Delhi, where she joined the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and rose to the rank of Cadet Sergeant Major, demonstrating leadership and discipline that laid the foundation for her military career.
After clearing the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and being recommended by the Air Force Selection Board, Dhankar was commissioned as a Flying Officer in June 2023 in the Administration branch of the IAF. She has since earned a merit-based promotion to Flight Lieutenant, handling key responsibilities in personnel administration, logistics and coordination.
