New Delhi/IBNS: Top wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sakshee Malikkh met Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur at his residence on Wednesday morning amid their ongoing agitation against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brijbhushan Sharan Singh.

The wrestlers have been protesting against Singh who has been accused of sexually harassing seven women grapplers.

This is the second meeting between the central government and the protesters who had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah last Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has quizzed Singh twice in connection with the case.

The police, who have formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the matter, have questioned around 200 people in the case as well, said reports.

The police will file a status report in the court, listing the details of all the inquiries they have held so far.

As per reports, the police have looked into every allegation and questioned the people allegedly present at the time.

Singh earlier claimed that he will come out clean from the charges of sexual harassment levelled against him by the wrestlers.

Singh had said he has full faith in the judiciary and also expressed faith in the investigating agencies. He claimed that he and his supporters will get justice.

On April 29, two separate police cases were filed against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, after allegations of sexual harassment by seven wrestlers, one of them a minor.

The cases were filed after the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Delhi Police. One of them is under POCSO, the stringent law against sexual assault of children.

Meanwhile, top wrestlers, including Sakshee Malikkh, Vinesh Phogat, and Bajrang Punia, who have been at the forefront of the massive protest against Singh, have resumed their duties in the Railways.

However, both Malikkh and Punia have denied the reports of withdrawing from the protest. "This is our fight for justice. We will not step back," Malikkh told reporters as quoted in media channels.
