Alia Bhatt to play lead in 'Kalki 2898 AD' director Nag Ashwin's next film: Report
Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt will be playing the lead in Nag Ashwin's upcoming film, media reports said.
As per a report by Midday, Ashwin has made a script with a powerful female lead.
An insider told the media outlet, "Ashwin has crafted a script focused on a powerful female lead—a character that demands emotional intensity and depth which is tailor-made for Alia.
"While the storyline remains a closely guarded secret, the narrative would tackle themes of personal resilience and empowerment in a unique, contemporary setting."
The news comes after Alia suffered a rare box office failure with Vasan Bala's Jigra, which released last month.
Apart from Ashwin's project, Alia is set to feature in Alpha co-starring Sharvari and Love & War, which also features her husband Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in the lead.
Ashwin's Kalki, which has its timeline commencing with Indian epic Mahabharata and merges with 2898 AD, is one of the massive hits in 2024.
