Rahman won two awards in 2009 and was nominated in 2011.
The Academy Awards are conferred to actors and technicians through a voting system by members of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
AR Rahman posted a screenshot of a notification from The Academy that says, “Thank you. Your ballot has been received.”
The message also requests members to keep their voting decisions confidential, adding that “it is essential to the integrity and fairness of the process.”
Nominations for the 95th Academy Awards will be announced on January 24, 2023.
