Kriti, who looked glamorous throughout the film, revealed that she agreed to wear a bikini on screen for the first time because she has become more comfortable with her body over the years.

Speaking to NDTV recently, the 36-year-old actor said she was excited about her role in Cocktail 2 and that the bikini scene came at the right stage of her life.

‘I am comfortable in my body’

Reflecting on the scrutiny actors face, Kriti said she is often her own harshest critic and tends to focus more on her own performance than on external opinions.

"I feel I am my biggest critic. I scrutinise myself so much that I am more bothered about that than anything else. For me, if I feel I have not done my best, it bothers me the most. Yes, today we all face scrutiny for everything," she said.

Explaining her decision to wear a bikini in Cocktail 2, she added, "I was actually very excited about my role in Cocktail 2. I did a bikini scene after 12 years. For a scene like that, more than fitness, you have to be comfortable in your own skin."

Kriti said she would not have been comfortable taking up such a scene several years ago, highlighting how her outlook has evolved with time.

"The bikini scene in Cocktail 2 came at the right time. I had never worn a bikini until then in my life. I wouldn't have done it six-eight years ago. I have grown and evolved with time.

"Now, I'm comfortable in my body. This scene came bang on at the right time. I now wear the bikini to the beach. This came at a time when I knew okay I can do this," she said.

Trainer shares insights into Kriti's fitness journey

Earlier, Kriti's trainer Karan Sawhney shared insights into her fitness preparation in a video posted on Instagram.

Emphasising the importance of nutrition alongside exercise, Sawhney said, "You want to get that bikini body like Kriti. First, the most important thing is your food. You could be training six times a week and training hard, but your nutrition—if it is not on point—nothing is going to show. You have to be in a deficit."

What's next for Kriti Sanon?

On the professional front, Kriti is reportedly set to headline a large-scale horror film backed by Maddock Films.

Reports published in October 2026 suggest that the project will explore straight horror rather than the production house's familiar horror-comedy format.
