Apurna Narzary to receive emerging player award for football
Assam/IBNS: The government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Department of Sports & Youth Welfare has nominated Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, as an "Emerging Player" for the 2022-23 season.
She has participated in numerous international events representing India, such as those held in Bangladesh, Qatar, and Thailand, among other places.
Daobaisa Boro, the executive member for Sports & Youth Welfare in the Bodoland Territorial Region government, has declared Apurna Narzary as the "Emerging Player" for the 2022-23 season.
This nomination was to acknowledge her outstanding performance in international football competitions.
During the ongoing Baokhungri Festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar, the BTR government has chosen to bestow the "Emerging Player" award upon Apurna Narzary, making her the first-ever recipient of this honor.
This announcement was made by Daobaisa Boro, the executive member of Sports & Youth Welfare in the BTR government.
Apurna Narzary, the recipient of the "Emerging Player" award, will receive a citation, traditional Aronai, and a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh.
The BTR government, along with the Sports & Youth Welfare government, has been providing cooperation and support to up-and-coming sports personalities who exhibit their talents in various national and international sports disciplines.
